Holding You Long Enough

As the daylight is falling to night.
And I lay upon this time of waiting.
Could it be I have slept,
for Oh so very long.

For I have laid in shadow.
far below your green meadow.
Dreaming dreams,
yet unreal, so unreal,
But for you, my soft green dawn,
I give you this dew,
that rests upon my cheek.
For you have become the dawn of my life,
that awakens my senses.

You are the wind to my longing.
Filling my sail with your voice.
The raft and rock after my sleeping.
You carry me to my own; believing.

I am lost within this feeling,
as I am come to your land of seeing.
I am lost among clouds; drifting.
Feeling warmth rest within my soul.

You are more of me than my own;
more than the breath of love you have given.
Your loss to me, is my soul
For I can not hold you - long enough.
